U12 Div 2 Vs. Pittwater 1-0 Win
We came out strong in the first half, with our attacking four, Matty, Luke, Max and Will passing the ball very well down the line, and controlling the first 10 minutes of the game. They put a lot of pressure on Pittwater’s defence until we finally broke through with some good ball control from Max who passed onto Matty’s left boot that saw the ball curling past the keeper for an early goal. But it was our defence that can take credit for this win. After the early lead, the ball was played for the remainder of the game in our own half, so it was left to our defenders who held their line very well, against a much physical and larger opponent. Much of the team rotated through defence, where they put their bodies on the line with some strong tackling and running to intercept the ball. Notable mentions have to go to man of the match Daniel (Dash) who was a constantly in the face of the Pittwater attack, along with his partner in crime Zane. A quick shout out to Will, who got a cracker of a falcon. Well done boys for a hard fought 1-nil victory. You deserved it. P.S. Enjoy throw in training on Wednesday.
WU9 BTH Rubies vs Seaforth Swifts Won 4-0
The Rubies maintained their 100% record with another excellent performance. The Raiders' were always on top but just couldn't put the ball away to see the game scoreless at halftime. The deadlock was broken shortly after the interval when Leah reacted well to a fumble from the Seaforth Keeper to toe the ball home. Charlotte doubled the advantage with a powerful finish from the edge of the area. Leah grabbed her second and the Rubies' third cutting in from the left and trying to cross the ball to Olivia but the ball went in off the far post. Olivia bagged the fourth from a rebound after her initial shot was parried back to her by the Swift's goalie. The clean sheet was particularly pleasing and owed a lot to Eadie and Zoe holding their defensive positions so well in the second half. Zoe grabbed the player of the week with her defensive display following up on great attacking play last week.

vs. Avalon
5-5 Draw
Our Raiders versed Avalon FC, in a fast paced game from the start with some rapid goals by the U13/4’s taking us to a half-time lead. The U13/4’s ran hard for the duration with no substitutes. The game was hard fought on both sides, and although we were in the lead through most of the game, Avalon FC came back in the nail biting final minutes to end the game in a draw (5-5).
U8 Vipers Vs. HSU FC 7-1 Win
The Vipers had an amazing game on Saturday defeating the Harbord Seasiders (stormers) 7-1!
BTH U13/4 Vs. Avalon FC @ Kitchener 5-5 Draw
What a game! What a day! The BTH U13/team had an amazing game. All the hard training has paid off with the team’s communication and passing outstanding today. Playing against the undefeated leaders of the competition, BTH led 4-0 after the first half with Flynn scoring 3 goals and Ryleigh 1. The defence was second to none with Chris, Max, Brock and Josh together with great goal defence from Lucas. The team passed extremely well to Charli and Ella who ran the ball down into the goals supported by Jake and Charlotte on a number of occasion which gave the team many scoring opportunities.
During the second half BTH controlled the ball well passing and tackling which saw lots of great ball work from Flynn as well as Ryleigh. With no subs the team unfortunately ran out of puff at the in the last 10 minutes which allowed Avalon back into game to level to score at 5-5. The team is so confident and their ball skills and communication is second to none. What an exciting season it will be. Congratulations to Charlotte “player of the match” this week.
WU13-3 Emeralds Vs. Mosman @ Wyatt Oval 2-0 Win
30th of April, the Emeralds vs. Mossman at Wyatt oval. The girls did a great job at playing. Kicking the game off with a good goal by Mossman. The girls didn’t give up after that and they kept persisting throughout the whole game. With Ruby, Layla, Giselle and Piper in defense we had a strong chance of winning. Bronte, Aimee and Ellen did a great job with getting the ball towards our goal. There were a couple of very impressive headers from Ruby and Zoe. Alex and Chelsea did a great job at playing mid. A couple of big kicks by Layla and Claudia. Georgie was in goals and she did an amazing job, especially all her great saves. Then Mossman got another good goal. The score ended up being 2 - 0 their way but the girls did great! Player of the match was Emilie who was amazing throughout the game. Great game girls.
All Age Division 1 Vs. Allambie FC @ Wyatt Oval 1-1 Draw
I’m not usually one for clichés, but the old saying ‘a game of two halves’ sits at the forefront of my mind after Saturdays 1-1 draw with top of the table Manly Allambie. BTH knew that Allambie, who at this stage of last season were mid-table in the Premier Division, were going to a tough, well organized outfit. What Allambie didn’t expect was BTH to be as good as they were, most notably in the first half. Right from the kick off BTH looked hungry and could have taken the lead within 20 seconds, Marty’s superb ball found the run of George Harle, his heavy touch rolled across the box and fell to Hayden Waters who’s shot was blocked from close range. What followed over the next 20 minutes could only be described as a barrage of pressure. Waters beat the offside trap and went 1 on 1 with the keeper who made a smart save to tip his effort around the post, Harle had another shot parried, Gillies and Jack brown had headers that flew just wide, too many chances to list all. It really was a great first half performance and it was Harle who broke the deadlock with a trade mark freekick after being brought down on the edge of the area (top left) Half Time 1-0, all smiles minus the fact we hadn’t put 5 or 6 away against an average looking side. And then the second half… Pretty poor all round, wasn’t so much BTH took the foot of the pedal, more just stopped playing football. To their credit Allambie, who are specialist in these sorts of games started to get in amongst us and kept the ball much better, they equalized on 70 minutes when a very dubious free kick was given on the edge of the box. ‘James Rodríguez’ stepped up and rather scuffed an effort down the throat of keeper John Massey who could only parry the ball out in front of him, the ball then deflected off into the path of an attacker who poked home. The game then became more interesting when some handbags on the halfway line resulted in Marty and their main player being sent off. BTH did start to come back into the game in the last 15 mins, Jason Lal had a glorious chance to equalise but fired over from close range, Joe Rushton thought he had won it late on (and should of, poor decision) when he rolled his market and finished superbly, only to be foiled by the linesman’s flag. Overall, a superb first half with lots of positives to be taken, but lessons to be learnt in closing out a game. Massive game next week against title favourites Curl Curl.
