WU13-1 Diamonds vs CC Strikers 6-1 win

After unfortunately having a Bye in round 1, the Diamonds had a fabulous start to the season with their first game against CC Strikers (who were last year’s Grand Final winners). We had all 13 players available and every single Diamond contributed positively to the 6-1 win. Our passing game was definitely a highlight with some lovely 1-2's, calm back passing and insightful attack. Coach GG has been working hard with the girls at training and this was evident in their game play. Our defense was strong and composed and combined well with the midfield and forwards to lead to some great attacking runs and lovely finishes. Goals were scored by Ella, Charlotte, Jade and Gemma with a hat-trick. It really was a fabulous display of teamwork and no one player could be singled out as Player of the Match this week. Well done Diamonds.

WU13-3 Emeralds

Sunday Morning saw the Emeralds at Lionel Watts for their second game of the season against Wakehurst. A great early start with some great playing out from the back, like we had practiced at training, saw the Emeralds scoring 2 fast goals, both by Zoe. A strong fight back from Wakehurst saw the score at half time 2 all. The second half saw the Emeralds ‘Never Give Up’ attitude and 2 goals were scored by both sides, with both of our goals being scored by Aimee. Some courageous playing in defense helped the Emeralds secure a 4 all draw. Our player of the match was Aimee. Overall, we had a great game with some exceptional playing out from the back and 4 magnificent goals. A great game by Emeralds.

WU11 Diamonds

What a great first game for the season with no subs and a few rookies, the girls drew 1 all against Avalon. The girls obviously had been listening to coaches David and Barry , they held positions for most of the game. After numerous attempts on goal Lily T got one in the even up the score. One our newbies Miranda played very well even coming back from injury to take the Player of the Match. Well done girls we are looking forward to the return of Amelia and Abi.
