WO35-1 Divas
After a crushing defeat the day before
The Divas knew what was in store
A tough game v Forest at their home ground
A psyched up Diva was all around
Sturmey had told us we had to do well
Cos losing to “friends ”would really be hell.
All of us kittens we found our tiger,
And went out full force to have a blinder.
Bodies were falling this way and that
Poor Angie got shoved and landed kersplatt!!

Under 10 Ravens
Under 10 Ravens v Killarney Tornadoes The pre-match atmosphere was tense as we knew that the game was going to tough. We played the tornadoes in a previous clash that had ended in a 5-5 draw. They had strong attack with long range shot ability. Coach Wes advised us to keep our formation be crafty and fast in attack, consistent and solid in defence. We had a plan and executed it brilliantly. We were determined and showed trust in each other. It was a true pleasure for spectators to see all the team improvement this season come together in the one match, ball skills, positional awareness, possession and passing skills. This was an all-round team effort with David trouncing Goliath in a 4-1 routing. Great first goal from Stephen and man of the match went to Christain. Well done Ravens.

U9 Sapphires
The team are currently undefeated, with only 1 goal being scored against them. The girls operate as a team and every week play to win. They communicate well on the field during the games and encourage each other. Throughout the season they are all developing into strong soccer players, they are a delight to watch.

U11-1
BTH U11a 0 – Seaforth 5
Playing away to Seaforth on a chilly 08:30 am start, all arrived by 8am ready, eager and keen to give it another go. Despite the results, this group of players are always willing to learn, putting in the effort at training and going the “extra-mile” on match days.
From the kick-off, BTH Blades applied pressure and came close on a few occasions. Against the run of play, Seaforth resorted to using long ball and caught our defence off guard on a few of occasions. BTH continued to keep possession with creative exchanges and plays across the park, using the full width and length amongst each other. Seaforth somehow always managed to scramble their way out of trouble and to their credit scored good counter attack goals. An own goal added to our woes and found ourselves 4-0 down at the break. The end score of 5-0 (late goal) did not reflect on how well the Blades played overall. Seaforth coach was very complimentary to the team on the creative play, overall positive attitude and complimented the team on controlled possession. Valuable lessons on transitions and effective use of possession for all to work on.
The MVP for the game was Amy Humphrey, who started out at right back and moved into right midfield, her ability to assess situations and execute well timed passes, turning defence into attack with patience.
Although the Blades went down in the result, the team continue to develop and learn. The fighting team spirit and general play characterizes this team, our biggest challenge is to start BELIEVING we can win at this level while we continue to develop.
Onwards and upwards we go, that win in the 1st division is close.

U8 Redbacks
The U8 Redbacks played Wakehurst Crows at Hews Parade on Saturday morning (lost 3 - 0). The Redbacks played very competitively, had lots of fun and continue to improve with good passing and shots on goal.
Player of the Match was awarded to Lauren Turner who played well and was very brave (although a few tears) after receiving a bruise to the inside of her ankle in the first 10 minutes and had the ball kicked into her chest towards the end.

WO35-1 Divas
Divas vs Pittwater
It was a bright, sunny afternoon and after a week’s break – thanks crazy weather the week before. We were pumped and ready to play. Unfortunately, Doctor Evil had stolen our mojo and we just weren’t up to our usual Diva selves. We had some glimpses of Diva magic, but just couldn’t finish it with a goal.
The Pittwater girls played an excellent game, scoring 5 goals against us. It just wasn’t our day – I swear they were the ones who hired Doctor Evil. But I’ve never seen a team fight so hard. We never gave up, even up until the final whistle. When you face a defeat like we did (5-0) and still maintain your passion – that’s true team spirit. We may not have had our mojo, but we definitely had Diva spirit.
